In developing mojoPortal, an open source web site framework, I have strived to follow the w3c standards and guidelines for accessibility. By conforming to the recommendations in the development of mojoPortal I am promoting accessibility because users who build web sites using mojoPortal start out with an accessible, standards compliant site right out of the box and the implementation encourages continued use of standards in creating web content because the editor produces standards compliant markup and the included sample skins all use table-less layout and accessible xhtml. I consider myself more of a developer than a designer. I have a good understanding of markup and standards but I like to collaborate with others who can make things pretty as that is not my greatest strength.
