Barry McMullin

Personal Profile:
Barry McMullin is an Associate Professor in the School of
Electronic Engineering of Dublin
City University (DCU), and also Director of the Rince (/rin-keh/) Institute, an
Irish National research centre for innovative engineering
technologies. The Rince
e-Accessibility lab has been responsible for a number of
large scale evaluations of web accessibility across European
states, including the 2005 EPAN study of EU e-Government
accessibility. The lab is also active in the development of novel
web browsing tools specifically targeted at users with certain
disabilities. Barry is a current member of the Access for All
Standards Consultative Committee of the National Standards Authority of
Ireland (NSAI) and has been a member of the W3C WAI Education and Outreach
Working group (but is not currently in "good standing"!). He
has served as a judge for the annual Irish e-Government
awards, and is a member of the Approvals Board for the Excellence
through Accessibility awards of the Irish National Disability
Authority.
