Personal Profile:

I've been working with websites since 1998, first as an HTML coder, then content co-ordinator, then Editor for AngliaCampus - an online learning resource for UK schools. I joined South Norfolk Council as Web Editor in 2001, and as part of a small Web Team have been steadily improving the usability and accessibility of the council's website, since project-managing a complete redesign in 2005.

Working in the public sector has shown me the importance of considering both accessibility and usability as an intrinsic part of the web design process, and not just an afterthought. I have worked with disabled users testing the council's website as part of an accessibility audit, and seen first-hand how even the most seemingly insignificant issue can severely affect a user's experience.

I started out as a freelance web developer in April 2007 (LessFuss Design) to use my knowledge about accessibile web design - plus my graphic design & creative writing skills - to create standards-based websites for small businesses and organisations.

I live in south Norfolk with my wife and three children.
